Canada announced a new aid package for Ukraine

In a meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned Russia’s recent missile attack on Ukraine.

The head of the Canadian government, Justin Trudeau, announced a new package of military support for Ukraine worth 500 million Canadian dollars. This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine on Thursday, July 11.

“At a meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the recent Russian missile attack on Ukraine. The head of the Canadian government emphasized that his country is ready to provide the necessary medical support to those injured as a result of the Russian attack on a children’s hospital in Okhmatdyt in Kyiv, and also announced a new, additional package of military support for Ukraine at a cost of 500 million Canadian dollars,” the statement said.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for the additional defense package, and the two leaders discussed Ukraine’s defense needs and coordinated cooperation within the fighter coalition.

In addition, Zelensky told Trudeau about the need to expand training missions for Ukrainian pilots. The parties exchanged views on the possibility of further training for Ukrainian pilots on Canadian flight simulators and holding one of the thematic meetings in Canada following the results of the first World Summit.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky met with representatives of American defense companies.
