Masoud Pezeshkian, who is considered a moderate presidential candidate, will support the so-called “resistance movements” against Israel.

Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian has assured the Hezbollah leader that he will continue to support the group and other regional “resistance movements” against Israel. The Telegraph reported this on Monday, July 8.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to support the people’s struggle in the region against the illegal Zionist regime,” Masoud Pezeshkian said in a letter to Hassan Nasrallah, head of Hezbollah.

The newly elected president also emphasized that this support is “deeply rooted in the basic policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the works of Imam Khomeini and the instructions of the Supreme Leader.”

It was noted that this was Pezeshkian’s first public statement on foreign policy since his election on Saturday.

We remind you that the liberal Masoud Pezeshkiyan received the support of 16.4 million Iranians in the election, and his competitor, the conservative Said Jalili, received the support of 13.4 million citizens.
