The Russian military fired dozens of missiles at a number of Ukrainian cities

On Monday morning, the Russians launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. They hit Kyiv, Dnieper, Krivoy Rog and the Donetsk region. The air defense shot down 30 missiles out of 38 launched. According to the latest data, 22 people died in Kyiv and 82 others were injured. In the Shevchenko district, the entrance to a five-story residential building was completely destroyed. After a morning attack on Kyiv, Russian troops bombarded the capital again in the afternoon. Seven people died and three were injured.

In Krivoy Rog, 11 people died and 42 were injured Russians reportedly attacked Metinvest Group’s Northern Mining and Processing Plant (GOK), killing 10 people. On Tuesday, a day of mourning was declared in Krivoy Rog.

Ukraine and Poland entered into a security agreement

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed an agreement on security cooperation between the countries. Warsaw promises to continue to support Ukraine during the 10-year period of the document. For the first time among the signed bilateral security agreements, the document provides the possibility of intercepting missiles and drones in our country’s airspace fired in the direction of Poland. Poland will also consider the possibility of transferring at least one additional MiG-29 squadron to Ukraine – at least 14 fighters. Also for the first time, the security agreement talks about the creation of a “Ukrainian legion.”

“Blackout-free days” have been canceled in Ukraine

On Tuesday in Ukraine, blackout schedules will be in effect throughout the day. The so-called “non-shutdown days” by region have been canceled. The reason for the cancellation is a significant lack of electricity in the energy system and increased consumption due to heat. It is expected that on Tuesday from 05:00 to 14:00, oblenergos will apply two queues of closing schedules, from 16:00 to 22:00 – four queues of closing schedules, and in other hour – three queues.

US President Joe Biden told members of the Democratic Party that he will remain in the presidential race in 2024, media reports. It was noted that Biden sent a letter to Democrats amid talk of his possible replacement. “I am determined to stay in this race, see it out, and defeat Donald Trump. The question of how to move forward has been well debated for over a week. It is time to end it,” Biden wrote in the letter.
