North Korea has passed a law authorizing the use of nuclear weapons “if threatened.”
North Korea said it successfully tested a new tactical ballistic missile called the Hwasongpho-11 Da-4.5 on Monday, capable of carrying an ultra-large warhead. This was reported by Reuters on Monday, July 1, citing the North Korean state news agency KCNA.
According to the agency, the new missile is capable of carrying an ultra-large warhead weighing up to 4.5 tons. As part of the tests, two such missiles were launched with a maximum range of 500 km and a minimum range of 90 km.
“This was done to confirm the stability of the flight and the accuracy of the hit,” the DPRK explained.
The Hwasongpho-11 is a series of short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM) developed by North Korea, known as the KN-23 and KN-24.
North Korea has said it will continue to test missile launches throughout July.
South Korean officials said that “North Korea’s launch of short-range ballistic missiles may be aimed at showing off its wares to potential buyers.”
We remind you that on Wednesday, June 26, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, which probably ended in failure.
It was previously reported that North Korea launched more than three hundred balloons with garbage towards South Korea in the past two days.
