The North Atlantic Alliance plans to appoint a person responsible for long-term aid to Ukraine in the near future. The Wall Street Journal reported this on Monday, July 1.
The corresponding decision will be officially announced at the upcoming North Atlantic Alliance summit in Washington on July 11.
It noted that senior civilian officials in Kyiv will focus on Ukraine’s long-term needs for military modernization and non-military support.
“He will report both to the alliance headquarters in Brussels and to the new command created in Wiesbaden to coordinate the supply of military equipment to Kyiv and the training of Ukrainian troops,” the publication notes.
Biden named the condition for Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance.
Earlier it was reported that NATO and EU representatives discussed the experience of the basic training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian military personnel noted the changes that must be improved and implemented so that the program meets all the requirements of combat operations in Ukraine.
