The IMF Board of Directors decided to allocate $2.2 billion to Ukraine – they will be used for budget support.
The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund approved the next tranche of the program for Ukraine in the amount of about $2.2 billion. The IMF press service reported this on Friday, June 28.
The IMF Board of Directors completed the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility under the Extended Fund Facility for Ukraine. This made it possible to allocate about $2.2 billion to Ukraine, which will be used for budget support.
“Despite difficult conditions, Ukraine’s performance under the EFF program remains high. All quantitative performance criteria were met at the end of March, and all structural targets at the end of June were met on time or with partial delay,” the IMF said.
The Fund noted that, despite the fact that prospects remain highly uncertain, the Ukrainian economy continues to remain stable.
Let’s recall that Ukraine received the first tranche in the amount of $2.7 billion from the IMF immediately after the approval of the program totaling $15.6 billion in early April 2023.
The second tranche amounts to $890 million (June 2023), the third tranche – $900 million (December 2023), the fourth tranche – $880 million (March 2024).
