This year, the Ministry of Social Policy updated the composition of the baby package, taking into account the wishes of parents and the opinions of experts.
More than 5.5 thousand new baby packages or baby boxes have been delivered to maternity hospitals. Any family where a child is born can receive them free of charge. This was reported by the press service of the State Service for Children’s Rights on Monday, June 24.
The baby package is a one-time in-kind aid from the state to families where a child is born. The purpose of this program is to support families with newborns and help parents provide adequate care for the baby. This year, the Ministry of Social Policy updated the composition of the baby package, taking into account the wishes of parents and the opinions of experts.
Products in demand have been added to the updated baby box, for example, reusable moisture-resistant diapers and warm clothes. The size of the blanket blanket has also increased and the amount of small clothes, which babies quickly outgrow, has decreased.
A book is also added to the new packages From birth to one year, developed and published by the Ministry’s partners – UNICEF. It combines the knowledge of world experience and Ukrainian experts.
Inside the baby package there are more than 90 things necessary for a newborn baby:
-
diapers;
-
blanket;
-
fabric;
-
toys;
-
towels;
-
other necessary things.
A pilot project is also currently being implemented that allows you to choose a one-time cash payment instead of a baby package. Today this amount is 7689 hryvnia. You must apply for payment no later than 12 months after the birth of the child.
Compensation can be received in several ways:
-
through e-Malyutka;
-
submit an application in person to the social protection authorities or central administrative authority in your place of residence;
-
send an application by mail to the department of social protection of the district state administration.
The opportunity to receive a baby box is available to Ukrainians and foreigners temporarily and permanently residing on the territory of Ukraine, as well as refugees who have given birth to a child.
Parents can receive a “baby package” or instead they:
-
relative;
-
adoptive parents;
-
Guardian;
-
adoptive parents;
-
caregivers.
In some cases, you need to provide some documents to get it. For example, if at the time of the child’s birth there was no baby package in the maternity hospital, or if the child was not born in the maternity hospital, or if the baby was born in another country.
We remind you that we started providing newborn children with the necessary products in September 2018.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Social Policy approved the list of goods included in the free baby package, which is given to parents upon the birth of a child.
