In Soviet times, it was considered one of the main universities in the USSR for training specialists in the oil and gas sector.
At the university, after a night attack by Russian war criminals, one of the buildings was partially destroyed, while others were damaged. According to local authorities, 14 houses were also damaged.
84-year-old Anna Nikolaevna lives opposite the educational institution. The pensioner was left without windows and doors. She told Radio Liberty that only one small window survived. The woman did not immediately understand what had happened. I was convinced that the thunder struck so hard.
As a result of the attack in one of the microdistricts of Ivano-Frankivsk, residential buildings, an oil and gas university and a kindergarten were damaged, said mayor Martsinkov. Rescuers and utility workers are still eliminating the consequences of the morning shelling of the city.
As Svetlana Grebenyuk, the head of the kindergarten, told the Public, almost 70% of the windows were damaged by the blast wave. In the summer, more than 120 children visit this institution. According to Grebenyuk, approximately half a million hryvnia is needed to replace windows.
