After the Verkhovna Rada supported the law on the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine, cases of attempts to cross the border illegally became more frequent.

Ukraine is negotiating with European Union countries on the return from abroad of men who crossed the border illegally. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko announced this on Thursday, June 20, in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“We are holding consultations with our colleagues from the European Union and these negotiations will continue,” Klimenko said.

According to him, now the European countries are not in the mood to return Ukrainian men en masse, but negotiations are ongoing.

He added that in Ukraine every day, border guards stop dozens of people trying to illegally cross the border of Ukraine to EU countries, including through the forest in the mountains and the Tisa River.

“We are stopping people not only directly at the border, but also at checkpoints, at points located 5-10 kilometers from the border, of course, about dozens of people per day. ” Klimenko said. .

We remind you that 90% of rescuers and police officers are dedicated to mobilization
