Ukrainian pilots are learning to fly the F-16 at air bases in Arizona and Denmark. The training may be further expanded to other locations in Europe.

The Pentagon is committed to coordinating with the countries of the “aviation coalition” to meet Ukraine’s needs in this direction. Pentagon Speaker Patrick Ryder said this in a briefing on Tuesday, June 18.

“We are focused on cooperation with the aviation coalition. It is necessary to determine the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to protect its population, and then fulfill them,” he said.

Ryder did not name the exact number of Ukrainian pilots undergoing training. According to him, this information can only be provided by the Ukrainian side, taking into account all security and planning factors.

At the same time, he confirmed that Ukrainian pilots are learning to fly the F-16 at air bases in Arizona and Denmark. And he added that the training could be expanded to other areas in Europe.

It was previously reported that Ukraine had asked the US to train more F-16 pilots, but was denied due to a lack of space at the training centers.
