A second ship, the bulk carrier Tutor, likely sank in the Red Sea due to an attack by the Houthis. The group attacked it on June 12, Reuters reports citing a message from the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO).
It is known that the wreckage and oil residues were found at the last registered location of the ship.
One crew member remains missing, believed to have been in Tutor’s engine room at the time of the attack.
On June 12, the Houthis reportedly attacked the Tutor, which is owned and operated by Greece and was sailing under the Liberian flag at the time of the attack. The impact caused severe flooding and damage to the engine room.
It was earlier reported that the crew of the cargo ship Tutor was rescued by the US Navy.
Earlier, the Yemeni Houthis attacked the Ukrainian ship Verbena with two anti-ship cruise missiles in the Gulf of Aden. The ship Verbena, which flies the Palauan flag, is owned by a Ukrainian owner and has a Polish crew on board.
