The EU Council decided to extend the sanctions imposed by Brussels in response to the occupation of Crimea until June 23, 2025. These restrictions were first introduced 10 years ago – in June 2014. These include a ban on the import of products from the occupied peninsula, as well as infrastructure or financial investments and tourism services from Crimea. This was reported on the website of the Council of the European Union.
Also sanctioned are the export of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies or for use in annexed Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors or exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources.
Brussels noted that it does not recognize the occupation of Crimea and continues to condemn the annexation of the peninsula and considers it a violation of international law.
Let us recall that last week the United States of America and Great Britain introduced new sanctions against individuals and legal entities that contribute to the military economy of the Russian Federation and help circumvent the imposed sanctions.
