“Perhaps flowers were born at the tips of the fingers” combines sound, visual and textual poetry in an innovative artistic experience
“Perhaps flowers are born at the fingertips” is the name of Helen Kaliski’s latest project, a non-binaries trans artist who explores the intersection of various art forms to create a unique multilingual experience. This innovative project combines textual, visual and sound elements, presenting them to the public through podcasts, posters and folders.
Kaliski’s research is based on a broad spectrum of disciplines, including literature, sound and visual poetry, collage, handwriting and photography. Central to the project is the exploitation of the relationship between fingers and trees, two elements that, according to the artist, share an intimate connection with the natural world and human creativity.
“Of the close relationship between trajectories/creation stories in the world that both fingers and trees have. It is through these that we handle, weave, we write, root, fertilize, create, break, destroy, rebuilt and share our surroundings, our affections and Our experiences, “explains Helen Kaliski.
Poems are the result of a deep research that seeks to establish a poetic parallel between strength, vitality and fragility of fingers and trees. Through written, spoken and caligrated poems, Kaliski captures the essence of how both fingers and trees, nourish, build and connect humans with the present time.
Helen Kaliski uses her art to address her own experiences and artistic, especially in the context of her identity as a queer/trans person. The artist transforms her life reality into text, sound, movement, image and voice, creating a work that is both personal and universal. By placing his research in contemporary poetry in words, images and sounds, Kaliski offers a unique perspective on human creation and experience.
The project “Perhaps the fingertips were born at the ends” is a manifestation of Kaliski’s ability to transform abstract concepts into tangible and engaging experiences. Through his research and artistic practice, Kaliski challenges conventions and invites the public to explore new ways to see and interact with the world.
Through the combination of different media and forms of expression, Kaliski creates a work that is rich in meaning and depth. The multilingual approach allows the artist to explore the interconnection between text, sound and image in a way that is both innovative and deeply resonant.
