China did not attend the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and will not comment on the joint statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed.
The Chinese representative did not attend the June 15-16 Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, so Beijing will not comment on its results or the final communiqué. This was said by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Lin Jian, Ukrinform reports.
The last statement spoke about restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine as the basis for any peace agreement with Russia.
“China did not attend this peace summit and will not comment on the joint statement,” Lin said in response to reporters’ request for their views on the summit’s outcome document.
According to the press secretary of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on the Ukrainian issue, the position of the PRC “remains consistent and clear” (one of its main points is an immediate cease-fire and the establishment of a cease-fire, which consistent with Russia’s aspirations – ed.).
We remind you that this weekend the Global Peace Summit in Ukraine took place in Switzerland. In total, the final communiqué of the peace summit was supported by 80 countries and four organizations.
China, which did not attend the Peace Summit in Switzerland, is lobbying its “peace plan” to world governments. China has announced that it will not participate in the Peace Summit because China’s requests for Russia’s participation are not considered.
