Ukraine will not surrender – Sunak

Shortly before the peace summit, Russia’s UN representative said that the only topic of international meetings on Ukraine should be “the unconditional surrender of the Kyiv regime.”

Russia seeks Ukraine’s surrender. But that will never happen. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced this on Saturday, June 15, during the broadcast of the first plenary session of the Peace Summit.

He noted that Russia, on the eve of the Summit, tried to disrupt it because “it feels threatened by discussing the principles of international law.”

“We must ask: why does Russia feel that it is so threatened by the Summit, where the basic principles of territorial integrity, food and nuclear security were discussed in Sunak?”

The British Prime Minister recalled how, shortly before the Peace Summit, Russia’s UN representative said that the only topic of international meetings on Ukraine should be “the unconditional surrender of the Kyiv regime.”

“Well, it will not happen therefore, aggression cannot and should not prevail,” Sunak responded to the words of the Russian representative.

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin’s proposal in terms of “peace negotiations” in Ukraine is a proposal of surrender. US Vice President Kamala Harris said this in her speech at the Peace Summit in Switzerland.

Let’s recall that on June 14, Putin said that he seemed ready for “peaceful negotiations” with Ukraine. But to do this, the Ukrainians must withdraw their troops from four regions, which in Russia are called new regions. Ukraine should also abandon the prospect of NATO membership.

In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky compared Putin’s proposal to Hitler’s Nazism.
