Pro-Russian propagandist Artyom Marchovsky and the Internet portal Voice of Europe are also subject to restrictions.
The European Union has imposed sanctions against former Ukrainian MP Viktor Medvedchuk. This was announced by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the social network X on Monday, May 27.
Pro-Russian propagandist Artem Marchovsky, an associate of Medvedchuk and a Russian Internet portal are also subject to restrictions Voice of Europe (Voice of Europe).
“All restrictions previously imposed by the Czech Republic are now in force in all 27 EU member states,” the Czech Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that for Medvedchuk and Marchovsky this means a ban on entry and travel to all EU member countries. At the same time, all funds and economic resources of all three legal entities are frozen throughout the EU.
Earlier it became known that a scheme in which Medvedchuk took part was discovered in the Czech Republic. It’s about a pro-Russian network trying to build an influence operation in the Czech Republic.
According to the Czech intelligence services, Medvedchuk financed the media platform Voice of Europe led by Marchovsky. After the introduction of sanctions by the Czech Republic, Marchevsky fled to Slovakia, where he received temporary protection.
