Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Tabriz Friday prayer leader Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, head of the President’s bodyguard team Mehdi Mousavi, as well as pilots and flight crew were also killed in the accident. IRNA writes about this.
Raisi died on Sunday in a helicopter crash due to a technical malfunction while returning from Khoda, the media noted.
And BILD analyst Julian Repke believes that the helicopter crashed into one of the mountains and called the entire flight “suicidal.”
The helicopter tried to fly through the valleys, but on one of the last mountain passes, before descending into the valley again, at an altitude of 2 thousand 250 m, it crashed into a mountain. Other helicopters, due to poor visibility, did not see the moment of the accident and discovered the disappearance of the aircraft only upon arrival in Tabriz.
Recall that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi died in a plane crash on May 19. According to the Constitution, First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will become the interim head of state. Next, new presidential elections in Iran are due to take place within 50 days.
