Poland emphasized that Ukraine really needs anti-aircraft missiles to protect its industry, power plants and infrastructure.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said it would be more appropriate for Ukraine’s partner countries to increase their defense support for Ukraine rather than engage in its reconstruction, RMF 24 reports.
“Ukraine urgently needs anti-aircraft missiles to protect its industry, protect its power plants, protect its infrastructure.
During his visit to the United States, Sikorsky, speaking to BBC World reporters, admitted that it would have been better if the United States had approved the Ukraine aid bill earlier. But at the same time I noticed that help was on the way.
“I think it would be good for Putin to admit his aggression was a mistake and make a new calculation, because we will help Ukraine as much as necessary,” the Polish Foreign Minister emphasized.
Sikorsky also expressed the opinion that the European Union could do more on the issue of military aid to Ukraine.
At the same time, he noted that the amount of general EU financial assistance for Ukraine is even higher than that of the United States.
Also, when asked if Poland is considering the possibility of sending its troops to Ukraine, he said he would not reveal his cards.
