Galushchenko named Ukrainian economic growth against the backdrop of stable electricity supply as one of the possible factors.
Energy Minister German Galushchenko explained why the Russians returned to attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in the spring. He answered this question from a journalist on the We-Ukraine TV channel.
“Why they now decided to scale it to the whole country, I think, first, the economy has shown progress with stable electricity supply this year. Galushchenko said.
At the same time, the minister added that, despite the scale of the attacks, the weather also helps to avoid blackouts.
“In spring and summer, we have an additional resource – the sun, the wind. This is a resource that, unfortunately, due to geographical and weather conditions, so, of course, it helps us to balance the system ,” Galushchenko explained, adding that there were also some other measures that he did not want to discuss in detail.
It was previously reported that as a result of Russian strikes in Ukraine, half of the energy capacity was destroyed.
