The State Department, the White House and the Pentagon confirmed that ATACMS long-range missiles were secretly sent to Ukraine in early April.
The US State Department confirmed that in April it secretly transferred a batch of ATACMS long-range missiles to Ukraine. About this on briefing on Wednesday, April 24, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said.
“Yes, I can confirm that the United States has provided Ukraine with longer-range ATACMS missiles at the direction of the President,” Patel said.
He clarified that President Joe Biden in February gave an unspoken order to his security team to send these missiles to the Ukrainian side for use on the sovereign territory of Ukraine. The shipment was part of an aid package announced by the United States on March 12, and the missiles arrived in Ukraine in April.
“We did not announce this to ensure Ukraine’s operational security at its request,” Patel said.
Also, US Presidential National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed the initial shipment of ATACMS missiles, and noted that they will be shipped in the future.
“As I said in my opening remarks, we’ve sent some (missiles – ed.), and now that we have additional authority and capability, we’re going to send more,” Sullivan said.
In turn, Pentagon spokesman Garron Garn, in a comment to the Voice of America, noted that Ukraine used ATACMS last night. However, he did not provide details on this topic.
Meanwhile, the media has already calculated that with the help of ATACMS Ukraine will be able to “reach” all its occupied territories.

We remind you that according to media reports, the United States intends to transfer “a small number of ATACMS missiles” to Ukraine.
