The coalition of those who held a virtual meeting on the eve of the American Russian summit in Alaska.
On Wednesday, August 13, the leaders of the countries approved a joint statement. The British Prime Minister Cyrus Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Vice President of USA Jay di Wans and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensi, took part in the online conversation. They congratulated the efforts of the American leader Donald Trump, which are directed at the end of the war. This is indicated in the statement published on the web site of the British government.
A joint statement states that peace agreements on Ukraine should not contain restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Russia does not have the right to prohibit Ukraine to join Ukraine or NATO. It is also emphasized that security guarantees for Ukraine should be reliable.
In addition, the “coalition of these” came to agree with the fact that:
- Negotiations are possible only after a truce or significant termination of hostilities;
- Sanctions against Russia should be strengthened if the Kremlin does not want to go to a truce after the top in Alaska;
- International borders are continuous and cannot be replaced by force.
Recall that on August 13, US President Donald Trump promised “very serious consequences” for the Russian Federation if the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not agree with the stop of the war. The American leader also admitted that he does not believe that Putin may stop killing civilians in Ukraine.
