As of April 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has existing contracts for the purchase of weapons and military equipment in the amount of 582.2 billion hryvnias. It is reported that we are talking about agreements concluded in different years, which are in a state of implementation with different completion dates. For some of them, 254 billion hryvnias are provided for payment in 2024.
Dzhigir noted that Ukraine continues to receive significant international military assistance from partner states, thanks to which it is able to fight the enemy, but an important aspect is attracting investments to develop its own capabilities of domestic defense sector.
“We encourage international partners to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry and buy defense goods for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from Ukrainian manufacturers as a driver of the Ukrainian economy”, said the deputy minister.
Earlier it was reported that a plant of the German company Quantum-Systems GmbH for the production of drones was opened in Ukraine. There they will assemble 1,000 drones a year and they will also make spare parts.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky was presented with a new attack drone reminiscent of the Russian one Lancet. It can attack enemy targets at operational and tactical depths of more than 100 km.
