The lower house of the US Congress, after months of debate, approved a large-scale military aid package to Ukraine. The bill adopted by Congress provides for the allocation of approximately $61 billion to Ukraine.
The US military support package will help Ukraine “stabilize the front line” and return its troops to “active defense form.” Bloomberg wrote this on Sunday, April 21, citing Phillips O’Brien, a professor of strategic studies at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
He mentioned that if the help from partners had been stronger, our state could have suffered less losses.
“However, at least for now, with substantial US assistance, the Ukrainians will be able to “stabilize the line” and return to a “form of active defense,” he said.
The publication writes that the American aid will contribute not only to the strategic achievements of the Ukrainian army, but “will also help the soldiers maintain their military spirit even before the aid arrives.”
We remind you that on April 20, the House of Representatives of the American Congress passed a bill to provide almost $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support.
US Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner hopes that the Ukraine aid bill will reach Joe Biden for signature on April 23 or 24, which would trigger the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
