In total, the relief package provides $61 billion. Of these, the lion’s share will go to defense spending.
Thanks to America’s help, Ukraine will receive important resources for victory and recovery. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this on Saturday, April 29, on Telegram.
He thanked both parties for approving the aid package for Ukraine in Congress.
Shmygal recalled that the aid package provides $61 billion, of which:
for defense spending – 49.9 billion,
as budget support – 7.8 billion,
economic assistance – 1.57 billion,
for humanitarian demining and border protection – 400 million.
The Prime Minister added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive more long-range weapons and air defense. And the authorities can ensure the financing of budget expenditures and direct funds to restore critical infrastructure.
He also called on other countries to follow the example of the United States in transferring frozen assets to the Russian Federation for the restoration of Ukraine.
The United States has once again shown leadership and determination to fight for peace, security and a better future for Ukraine, Europe and the world,” said Shmygal.
We remind you that on Saturday the US House of Representatives passed a bill to provide almost $61 billion in aid to Ukraine, as well as bills to help Taiwan and Israel. It is scheduled to be approved by the Senate on Tuesday, after which the document will go to President Joe Biden for signature.
