A clear signal to the Kremlin: the EU commented on the aid to Ukraine

The President of the European Council stressed that those who believe in freedom and the UN Charter will continue to support Ukraine and its people.

The adoption in the US Congress of a multi-billion dollar aid bill to Ukraine is a clear signal to the Kremlin about its continued support for Ukraine. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, announced this on Saturday, April 20, on social media. X.

“I welcome the vote of the US House of Representatives to approve the critical $60 billion aid package for Ukraine. It sends a clear signal to the Kremlin: those who believe in freedom and the UN Charter will continue to support Ukraine and the its people,” Charles Michel emphasized.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also welcomed the decision.

“Ukraine deserves all possible support against Russia. Today we ask the US Senate to vote as quickly as possible, because lives are at stake,” von der Leyen emphasized.

As reported, on Saturday the US House of Representatives passed a bill to provide nearly $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support.

Congressmen also approved the seizure of Russian fixed assets. Ukraine can calculate up to 8 billion dollars.
