The Russians will probably try to take advantage of the time until American aid arrives in Ukraine and intensify their strikes.
The Russian invaders may intensify their attacks in the coming days and weeks, using the “window” before a new military aid package arrives in Ukraine from the United States. This is stated in a report by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
They recalled that the bill passed on Saturday, April 20, must be approved by the Senate and signed by US President Joe Biden before the aid starts arriving.
These requirements, as well as the logistics of getting American aid to the Ukrainian front lines, likely mean that the aid provided will not have an impact on the front line for several weeks.
“Thus, the situation at the front is likely to continue to deteriorate during this period, especially if Russian forces increase their attacks to take advantage of the window of time before more US aid arrives,” said analysts.
ISW experts also do not rule out that Ukrainian troops may experience further setbacks in the coming weeks while waiting for US aid to allow Ukraine to stabilize the front, but they are likely to halt the current offensive of Russia if restored US aid arrives quickly.
“The threat of a significant Russian operational breakthrough remains in the coming weeks, although the Ukrainian command may have greater opportunity to accept the short-term risks associated with running out of supplies to avoid it if it is confident that it will come soon.” of material,” the report said.
However, analysts suggest that the occupiers are likely to step up offensive operations, missile strikes and drone strikes in the coming weeks to take advantage of the closing window due to Ukrainian logistical limitations.
In addition, Russian troops are continuing, and in some places intensifying, offensive operations, perhaps to take advantage of the abnormally dry spring conditions and continued lack of Ukrainian equipment until promised aid arrives in West.
At the same time, experts point out, Russian troops have only achieved tactical successes in the past six months of the worsening situation in Ukraine and are unlikely to achieve a breakthrough that would break the front line.
We remind you that on Saturday 91 military clashes took place on the front. Most of the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repelled in three eastern directions.
