The parties exchanged views on Ukrainian-Chinese relations, Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine and several other issues.
On April 17, Ukraine’s Ambassador to China Pavel Ryabikin met with the Special Representative of the PRC Government for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in China.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on Ukrainian-Chinese relations, Russia’s all-out aggression against Ukraine and some other issues of common interest.
Ryabikin focused on the importance of intensifying bilateral political dialogue at all levels, and also confirmed the invitation to the Chinese side to participate in the Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland in June.
During the negotiations, the parties also noted that mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence is the unshakable basis of Ukrainian-Chinese relations.
Let’s recall that the previous leader of China, Xi Jinping, spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Beijing, where he said that Beijing supports holding a peace conference in Ukraine, but with the participation of Russia.
Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Gen Shuang told a UN Security Council meeting that it is better to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations than weapons.
