Previously, he was caught trying to bribe the head of the State Reconstruction Agency.
According to the investigation, in August 2023, the deputy turned to the head of the restoration agency, Mustafa Nayem, with a request to facilitate the allocation of funds for the repair of the university under his control.
For this, he allegedly promised an undue benefit in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency in the equivalent of 50 thousand dollars, and subsequently provided a portion of it in the amount of 0.39 bitcoins, which at that time was equal to 10 thousand dollars.
NABU and SAPO write that this is the first unlawful benefit in the history of anti-corruption agencies that has been documented in cryptocurrency.
Here is one of Odarchenko’s quotes on NABU records:
I love crypto. Have you never used crypto? This is wow. nary topic. I have my own exchangers. Everywhere, in Lvov, Kharkov, Kyiv. Yes, even in Spain.
The Anti-Corruption Center notes that the progress in this case is very good so far.
The people’s deputy was informed of the suspicion in November 2023. The investigation was completed in January 2024, and the case was sent to court in April.
