The head of the German government called on Beijing not to act to circumvent Western sanctions and not to provide arms to Moscow.

China and other countries should stop exporting goods to Russia. This is what German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in Shanghai, reports the German publication Tagesschau.

“We will insist that no one is allowed to help,” the government member emphasized.

He drew attention to the growth of Chinese exports to Russia after the start of a large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The head of the German government also repeatedly called not to act in the avoidance of Western sanctions and not to provide weapons to Russia.

He stressed that Russia’s aggressive war is not just a European problem.

Scholz made the remarks ahead of his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang.
