Nikolai Danilevich cited his support for the “Russian world” and justification for Russia’s aggression, the sources said.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine are conducting searches of the deputy head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations of the UOC-MP, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, on Friday, April 12.

“He (Danilevich – ed.) is known for being part of the delegation that in 2017, together with Novinsky (businessman Vadim Novinsky – ed.) persuaded the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew not to give the Tomos to the OCU. Danilevich also noted his support for the “Russian world” and justification for Russia’s aggression,” the source said.

The SBU has yet to provide official comments.

Previously, an anti-Semitic cleric from the UOC-MP was exposed, spreading fake news about the war in Ukraine. The tests confirmed the facts of the cleric’s information and subversive activities against the state.

The court ordered the UOC to vacate the churches in Pereyaslav and Kamenets-Podolsk
