Actors Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant will return to their iconic roles. Filming will begin in May.
Universal Pictures has announced that filming on the fourth Bridget Jones movie will begin in May 2024. The Daily Mail reported this.
The sequel to the acclaimed franchise, based on Helen Fielding’s books, will be called Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, with Renée Zellweger returning as the funny single girl and Hugh Grant playing Daniel Cleaver’s lover.
Also returning is Emma Thompson, who played Dr. Rawlings in Bridget Jones’s Baby in 2016. However, it is unknown if actor Colin Firth, who plays Mark Darcy, will appear in the film. The actor himself did not comment on his plan to make a romantic film. Moreover, in the book his hero is gone.
The film will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025.
It can be remembered that in the last movie, which was released in 2016, Bridget was shocked when she found out that she was pregnant.
She ends up marrying Mark, a high-ranking lawyer with whom she has had on-again, off-again feelings over the course of three films. He is also the father of her child.
