The report of the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region of the Russian Federation, Marina Alekseeva, was published on the website of the Public Chamber of the region.
“The largest enterprise in Dimitrovgrad, DAAZ LLC, has started a major re-equipment for the production of carburetors for the future domestic electric vehicle Atom. Rosatom has already invested 1.1 billion rubles in this project,” wrote official in the report.
Remember that a carburetor is a part of the power supply system of an internal combustion engine, designed to prepare a mixture of liquid fuel with air and regulate the supply of fuel to the combustion chamber. In modern internal combustion engines, it is almost never used due to technological obsolescence. It cannot be used in electric vehicles in principle due to the lack of an internal combustion engine.
The fragment of the officer’s report, which spoke about carburetors, almost completely coincides with the text of the satirical publication Panorama, published in September 2023. Moreover, on the Panorama website it is directly stated: “All texts on this site are grotesque parodies of reality and fake news.”
It is interesting that the Atom electric car project itself, whose investors are KamAZ and Rosatom, was called by independent Russian journalists a striking example of corruption in Russia.
