The producer of Pirates of the Caribbean has confirmed that a reboot of the project is being prepared without Johnny Depp.
Series producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he plans to “reboot” the $4.5 billion franchise in an interview with ComicBook.com and hinted that he’s not counting on the return of the main character, Captain Jack Sparrow.
In 2022, he already confirmed that Depp will not participate in the filming of the sixth pirate film.
The last part of the movie Salazar’s revenge was released in 2017.
After the release of the fifth part, Depp became involved in a legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard in a case of domestic violence. Although she won the trial, she lost a similar libel suit against Heard in the UK, making it difficult for her to continue her acting career.
Earlier it was reported that Johnny Depp expressed support for Ukraine and spoke with a refugee from Mariupol.
