    The head of Ukrenergo said that “even last winter the attacks on our energy system were not as great as this night.”

    Dozens of main network facilities have been affected in the energy system. Emergency shutdowns were introduced in seven regions.

    The most difficult situation is in Kharkov – there the Russian army literally tried to destroy all the main energy facilities powering the city.

    Dozens of facilities have been damaged, and emergency shutdowns are in effect in seven regions. The power grid is reportedly receiving emergency assistance from three countries.

    Dozens of energy system facilities were damaged: thermal and hydroelectric power plants, the main networks of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, and the networks of oblenergos. The most difficult situation is in the Kharkov, Odessa, Kirovograd, and Dnepropetrovsk regions.

    The energy system has maintained its integrity. The Ukrenergo dispatch center is working to stabilize its operation. Repair crews began emergency restoration work immediately after the end of the air raid warning.

    The 750 kV high-voltage line, which was the main power line of the Zaporizhia NPP, was taken out of service. Currently, the Zaporizhzhya NPP is supplied with power only through the reserve 330 kV line, which was restored by repair crews on March 14.

    Electricity consumption is forcedly limited in the following areas:

    • Dnepropetrovsk;
    • Donetsk;
    • Kirovogradskaya;
    • Odessa;
    • Poltavskaya;
    • Sumskaya;
    • Kharkovskaya.

    To support the safe operation of the energy system, emergency assistance was brought in from the energy systems of Romania, Slovakia, and Poland. Emergency restoration work will continue 24/7 until power is fully restored to consumers.

    Restoration work will take place in several stages: first, critical infrastructure will be healed, then lights will be turned on for the population, and then industry will be healed.

    In general, the situation in the energy sector is controlled, there is no need for shutdowns throughout the country, said Prime Minister Denis Shmigal.
