The Russian FSB announced the “detention in Moscow of seven followers… of the Russian Volunteer Corps,” the pro-government Russian news agency reported. Interfax.
“The FSB, with the strong support of the SOBR of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard in Moscow, thwarted an attempt to create a criminal group in the capital from RDK supporters,” the report said.
The imprisoned Muscovites “maintained contacts with the RDK, acting as part of Ukrainian armed formations against the Russian army, and discussed ways of carrying out violent actions against representatives of the agencies law enforcement, military personnel and foreigners,” the FSB assured.
“During searches of the detainees’ living quarters, a machete, a tactical ax, eight knives, an aerosol pistol and pepper spray, as well as “communication devices containing active communication with the leader of the RDK” was seized, the media reported.
The FSB added that operational search activities are currently ongoing, and the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
The news agency added that the intelligence service did not disclose the identities of the detainees.
