The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, visited enterprises of the military-industrial complex in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The war criminal stated that since February 2024, mass production of FAB-3000 has been established. The Russian department reported this on March 21.
FAB-3000 is an unguided bomb that was developed in the USSR. Russian military experts have stated that only the Tu-22M3 long-range bomber can drop this munition, but this aircraft cannot use bombs with the Universal Flight Planning and Correction Module (UMPC). The carrier of bombs with this module is the Su-34 bomber, but this aircraft cannot drop the FAB-3000.
Russian media do not rule out that the occupiers are upgrading the Su-34 and Tu-22M3 for the FAB-3000 bomb.
Let us recall that the American Institute for the Study of War stated that the Russian occupiers began to use FAB UMPB bombs at the front, as opposed to the use of unguided glider bombs with unified planning and correction modules (UMPC).
Military experts believe that the Russians will try to launch mass production of UMPB guided bombs in order to use these weapons along the entire front line.
