In the European Union, about 3 billion euros of profits received from the fixed assets of the aggressor country Russia are planned to be transferred to Ukraine.
Ukraine could wage a successful war against the Russian Federation if Kyiv received frozen Russian assets from the European Union. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced this on Tuesday, March 12, during his visit to the United States, reports TVN24.
“It is in the capitals where strong, pro-Ukrainian words are heard, when it comes to this, for example, when we say – let’s take these Russian assets and transfer them to Ukraine, it turns out that there are some problems, ” Tusk said, commenting on the question of why these assets cannot be used.
The politician also stressed that the sanctions against the Russian Federation “must stop being fiction.”
“Half of Europe still trades with Russia and Belarus, and many companies, including Polish ones, have successfully avoided sanctions. For some reason no one is interested in following them with all their might,” added the leader of the Polish government.
Let’s recall that Ukraine nationalized the oil and gas assets of the authorized Russian oligarch Eduard Khudainatov for 500 million Hryvnias.
It was previously reported that Switzerland refused to confiscate the frozen assets of the Russian Federation
The EU has created a working group on the transfer of Russian assets to Ukraine
