The American private space company Rocket Lab, using the Electron launch vehicle, successfully sent into orbit the StriX-3 radar remote sensing satellite from the Japanese company Synspective as part of the Owl Night Long mission. The company announced this on Tuesday, March 12. social networks X.
“The Owl Night Long launch, our 45th mission with the Electron launch vehicle!” says Rocket Lab.
The company explained that Strix can photograph millimeter-scale changes in the Earth’s surface from space, regardless of weather conditions at any time of the day or night.
It is known that the Owl Night Long mission is the fourth Rocket Lab launch for the Japanese company Synspective. The previous three missions for the company took place in December 2020, February 2022 and September 2022.
