The value of weapons transferred by Paris to Kyiv in almost two years of war exceeded 2.6 billion euros.
From the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation until the end of 2023, France supplied military equipment to Ukraine in the total amount of 2.615 billion euros. This was reported by the French Ministry of Defense.
In addition, about 10 thousand Ukrainian soldiers were trained in France and Poland with the support of Paris.
All military supplies to Ukraine meet three criteria: provision of a full cycle (equipment with ammunition, training and maintenance of equipment), assistance without weakening the French army and control of the “surge”.
The list of transferred equipment includes small arms, personal protective equipment, artillery, air defense systems, armored vehicles, trucks, sea boats, drones, aviation fuel, etc.
So, in less than two years, France sent 250 VAB armored vehicles of various modifications, 38 AMX10 armored vehicles, more than a million rounds of small arms ammunition, etc. However, in some cases the number of units transferred is classified. This applies to Crotale, Aster and SCALP missiles.
Special attention in transferred assistance is paid to drones, artillery and air defense systems. Thus, Paris transferred 160 drones and 10 drone detection systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, Ukraine received several anti-aircraft systems:
-
SAM Crotale NG – 2 pcs.
-
Mistral air defense system – 6 PCs.
-
SAM/T air defense system – 1 pc.
Also, thanks to the help of the French, the Ukrainian army received four LRU MLRS, six TRF1 self-propelled howitzers, 30 Caesar self-propelled howitzers, and 10 120 mm heavy mortars.
Let’s recall that a day before the media reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used the new French Armement Air-Sol Modulaire (AASM) bombs, also known as Hammer, for the first time.
