Representatives of the governments of the two countries will discuss plans for bilateral cooperation in seven areas.
Japanese authorities plan to attract the support of the private sector to extend long-term aid to Ukraine. This is what Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa said in his interview with NHK.
According to him, attracting the private sector is “important for the renewal and reconstruction of Ukraine.”
Kamikawa noted that before the Japan-Ukraine Conference on Promoting Economic Growth and Reconstruction to be held in Tokyo on February 18, achieving these goals is a long-term effort aimed at rebuilding the country as well as the livelihood of its people.
The Japanese Foreign Minister promised that Tokyo will continue to make efforts that cover various sectors.
Kamikawa also spoke about the inclusion of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in reconstruction plans. This project highlights the active participation of women in conflict prevention and peace development efforts.
The publication states that at the conference in Tokyo, the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Japan Denis Shmigal and Kishida Fumio will be joined by representatives of approximately 130 companies from both countries. They will discuss plans for bilateral cooperation in seven areas, including agriculture and infrastructure.
It was previously reported that Japan has given Ukraine a grant of $50 million to overcome the consequences caused by Russia’s armed aggression and to restore housing infrastructure.
