The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate noticed that the enemy ship, traveling from Novorossiysk to Sevastopol, was destroyed by Magura V5 drones.
The Russian large landing ship (LHD) Caesar Kunikov, which was destroyed by Ukrainian fighters on Wednesday, February 14, was en route from Novorossiysk to Sevastopol. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, in a commentary on ICTV.
He mentioned that the crew of the ship was 90 people. The exact number of how many Russians escaped will be announced later. The search and rescue operation is currently ongoing.
“The ship was carrying cargo from the city of Novorossiysk to the city of Sevastopol. The ship was loaded and during the transfer it was destroyed by drones. Five, if you are interested. Magura V5 drones,” said head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
We remind you that not far from the coast of Crimea, explosions were heard and smoke was visible in the sea. According to eyewitnesses, the cause of the explosion was a fire on one of the Russian ships.
Subsequently, the media said that as a result of strikes by power steering drones, the large landing ship Tsezar Kunikov sank.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Russian ship was hit, and the Main Intelligence Directorate released a video of the drone attack on Caesar Kunikov.
In addition, the Main Intelligence Directorate posted a confirming video: only an “oil stain” remained from the large Russian landing ship Caesar Kunikov.
