The businessman is convinced that his company SpaceX does not sell Starlink terminals to Russia directly or indirectly.
Billionaire Elon Musk responded to the information that the Russian army is using Starlink terminals on the front in Ukraine. He made the corresponding statement on microblog X.
Musk called the reports “false,” saying his company SpaceX is not selling terminals to Russia.
“A number of false news reports claim that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This is categorically incorrect. To our knowledge, no Starlink has been sold to Russia, directly or indirectly,” he wrote .
In the comments, Musk was asked if the company would know if the terminal had been activated in Russia. “Starlink satellites will not close communications with Russia,” the billionaire replied.
Let’s recall that earlier the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andrei Yusov, noted that the scale of use of Starlink terminals by the Russians in the war is growing.
SpaceX, which operates the Starlink satellite communications network, said it does not conduct any business with the Russian government or the Russian armed forces. At the same time, the company assured that they will deactivate the terminals received without the appropriate license.
