The head of the Kremlin repeated his version of history, according to which Ukrainians as a people were allegedly invented by Austrians and Poles, and Ukrainian lands, even up to the Dnieper, were ” belongs to Russia.”
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, said that Ukrainians are said to be like Russians, and what is happening in Ukraine is an element of civil war.
“The West believes that the conflict in Ukraine is forever separating one part of the Russian people from another, but reunification will happen,” Putin said.
He also repeated his version of history, according to which Ukrainians as a people were allegedly invented by Austrians and Poles, and Ukrainian lands, even up to the Dnieper, “belong to Russia .”
According to him, after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine “dragged” everything it received “from the shoulders of the master” of Russia.
Putin also said he wanted to “achieve a resolution of the situation in Ukraine through negotiations.” But the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is not ready for this, having banned such negotiations at the legislative level.
The Russian dictator also admitted that he has not yet achieved the goals of the war in Ukraine, especially “denazification,” which, in his interpretation, means “the banning of all neo-Nazi movements.”
Among other things, Putin said that international law must be adjusted because the balance of power in the world has changed. He also assured that Russia supposedly has no territorial claims against Poland, Latvia or anyone else.
The previous day, the Kremlin commented on Putin’s interview with Carlson, saying that it will be “read and analyzed for more than a day.”
