All police services are working at the scene of the murder of the deputy head of the Nikopol City Council.

On February 8 at 9.00, the police received a message that an unknown person had shot at a car belonging to the deputy chairman of the Nikopol Council.
At the scene, police determined that the attacker had used an unidentified weapon, causing the car to catch fire. After extinguishing the fire, the body of a 59-year-old man was found in the cabin.
The police identified signs of the attacker. Currently, material evidence is being collected and analyzed, and operational search activities are being carried out to apprehend the suspect.
Law enforcement sources reported that the Land Cruiser SUV was shot by people in military uniform. Deputy city mayor Vitaly Zhuravlev was driving.
As a result of the shooting, the car caught fire, and the driver received multiple penetrating gunshot wounds, from which he died at the scene.
