The bill provides for the allocation of more than $60 billion to Kyiv, with military aid reaching more than $48 billion by 2024.
US senators have published a border agreement that includes allocating money to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. The total amount of support is $118.28 billion.
According to the agreement, more than $60 billion of this amount will be allocated to Ukraine.
A vote on the deal in the Senate is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7.
Military aid includes $48.43 billion to continue US support to Ukraine in its fight against Russia through military training, intelligence sharing, increased presence in the European Command’s area of responsibility and other support, including:
-
$19.85 billion to replenish US weapons and equipment provided to Ukraine from Department of Defense (DoD) reserves;
-
$13.8 billion to allow Ukraine to rearm by purchasing weapons and ammunition from the US defense industrial base;
-
$14.8 billion to continue US support to Ukraine through military training, intelligence sharing, increased presence, and other supporting actions.
The bill also includes $8 million for the Department of Defense Inspector General (IG).
The agreement also provides budget support for Ukraine, including $7.85 billion in direct budget support and an additional $1.58 billion to support Ukraine’s economic development in priority sectors.
In addition, another $10 billion is earmarked for “humanitarian assistance to civilians in conflict areas, including Gaza, the West Bank and Ukraine.”
It was previously reported that US senators entered into an agreement on border restrictions, which includes support for Ukraine.
We remind you that the leader of the Republicans in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, said that military support for Ukraine meets the national interests of the United States.
