The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, announced this on his page on the social network X.
This provides sustainable, long-term, prospective financing for Ukraine, Michel emphasized. – The EU takes leadership and responsibility in supporting Ukraine; we know what’s at stake.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal indicated in his Telegram channel that this decision creates a four-year Ukraine Facility program with a total volume of 50 billion euros.
A significant part of these funds will be directed to the state budget and will help finance the budget deficit, the prime minister noted.
According to him, another component of the program involves the creation of a special investment instrument to cover risks in priority sectors. It will allow you to attract additional funds for investment.
I am grateful to the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the leaders of the EU member states for their unwavering support. Each of your votes is a significant contribution to our common victory,” Szmigal emphasized.
