The supply of these weapons occurs within the framework of assistance from the United States of America. Washington will also help modernize the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland announced this on January 31 at a briefing in Kyiv.
“We continue to provide security support in all categories, including new investments and new weapons systems, such as the small diameter bomb on its way to the front,” she said.
Nuland also said that in the Ukrainian capital she talked about the climate for international investment and the continued development of Ukrainian institutions, which is necessary to combat corruption and the shadow economy.
As you know, GLSDB (Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb) is a hybrid of an aerial bomb and an M26 unguided missile that can hit a distance of up to 150 km. No one has ever used them in war.
Let us recall that on January 30, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said that Ukraine would receive from the United States a new long-range precision bomb GLSDB. For security reasons, the US Department of Defense did not disclose when exactly Ukraine would receive these weapons.
