The press service of the Lviv Department of Internal Affairs reported this today, January 30.

After the active work of the regional working group, the last Soviet monument was dismantled in the Lopatinsky Society,” the report says.

In 2023, 312 Soviet monuments were demolished in the Lviv region.

We are glad that we have become an example for other areas that are now creating similar working groups on decommunization under military administrations,” noted the OVA.

It is noted that not a penny from the regional budget was spent on overthrowing the Soviet “idols” – caring local residents helped remove them.
