Inspectors general from the US Department of Defense, the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) arrived in the capital. They will hold a series of meetings with the administrators of the assistance provided by Washington. US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink reported this on the social network X.
Their meetings with program implementers, partners and the Ukrainian government promote oversight and accountability through U.S. assistance to Ukraine, the report said.
The New York Times recently reported that a US Department of Defense inspectorate had failed to promptly or fully account for nearly 40,000 weapons intended to help Ukraine since 2014.
Let us recall that on January 20 it became known that the Internal Audit Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with representatives of the Department of Defense Cooperation of the US Embassy, conducted an inspection of weapons and property provided by American partners in one of the military units.
