Since December 2023, the United States has not been able to provide a package of military assistance to Ukrainian defenders.
Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh spoke about the eighteenth Ramstein meeting. According to him, at the meeting the allies will discuss the extension of military aid to Kyiv, despite the lack of funding from the United States. He spoke about this on Monday, January 22, in a briefing.
“This meeting is just an opportunity to come together and discuss what Ukraine needs. And, as you know, the United States is a partner in managing some of the coalitions, including training some of the F-16 pilot that Ukraine will receive. So there will be one more case that will affect some milestones that need to be achieved,” Singh added.
He did not discuss the training of the Ukrainian military, but noted that we will talk about the activation of other countries.
“We know that Ukraine’s priorities continue to include artillery, ammunition and air defense. I’m not going to get ahead of other announcements that there may be or talk about what other countries are going to do, but you’ve heard the president said that we are… ..we are in this with Ukraine for a long time,” Singh emphasized.
Let’s recall that on November 22 last year a meeting was held in the Ramstein-17 format. At the meeting, new benefit packages for Ukraine were announced. They contain shells, missiles and power to enhance air defense.
